Sophie Morrison
Sophie Morrison is a Postgraduate Researcher within the Social Sciences
Department at the University of Northampton, she lives in North Yorkshire,
England. She is pursuing a PhD in Parapsychology entitled, “Mapping the
Phenomenology, Circumstances & Impacts of Paranormal Experiences.” She is an active member of the university’s Exceptional Experiences and Consciousness Studies (EECS) group.
Since January 2020, Sophie has contributed to the field as research assistant on the After Death Communication Project. In 2022, she became Lead Research Assistant for the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre, spearheading collaborative research into the effects of spiritual and energy healing – a focus that now underpins her doctoral work.
Sophie holds a first-class BA (Hons) in Social Psychology from Leeds Beckett University. She is a member of the British Psychological Society, the International Network for the Study of Spirituality (INSS) and the Society for Psychical Research (SPR). Sophie regularly shares her research at the annual conferences of the SPR, INSS and the BPS Transpersonal Section.
Drawing on many years as both an experienced energy healer and experiencer of paranormal phenomena, Sophie is deeply passionate about all aspects of research that aim to understand anomalous, transpersonal, and paranormal experiences. This work remains personally significant and central to her ongoing academic and professional endeavours, and she hopes to shed new light on these types of individual and personal experiences.
